Politics of Publishing Workshop

A program by and for Creative Writers - September 15, 2012 (10 am to 5 pm)

Marick Press Creative Writers' Workshop has been established to guide in the process of publishing.

The Workshop emphasizes querying and pitching as a process. The workshop initiated its activities in 2005 and it is currently open to students that are seeking guidance in the process of publication.

Marick Press Creative Writers' Workshop 2012 Program

Writers will learn the politics of publication:

  • The politics of publication
  • How to ‘read’ the market
  • Writing the query letter and synopsis – Part I
  • Writing the query letter and synopsis – Part II
  • Developing the ‘pitch’ and how to read an literary agent’s response
  • Identifying potential publishers and literary agents

The workshop will be run by Marick Press' publisher and staff and is open to all. Each session will be held at Marick Press offices at Tech Town. Registration is required: Make checks for $295 payable to Marick Press.
